Tracking Sources are advertising channels you want to track like Facebook and Google Organic. These Tracking Sources drive traffic to your website, and thus a tracking number will dynamically appear on your website when visitors come from one of those sources.
There are 2 types of Tracking Sources: Onsite and Offsite
Onsite Tracking Sources
Onsite sources are determined automatically using the referring URL (website where your ad was placed) or landing URL (special promo page or custom campaign parameters), and your target numbers are replaced with tracking numbers assigned to that source.
Examples of Onsite Tracking Sources:

Offsite Tracking Sources
Examples of offsite tracking sources are individual magazine ads and TV commercials, and onsite sources are Facebook ads and Google search ads.
